  13. Do youself a little favor and dump NewtNews for a real newsreader.  Go
  14. to ftp.cica.indiana.edu, change to the pub/pc/win3/winsock directory and
  15. download winvn?.zip.  The ? shows that I don't know the current version.
  16. It may be something like 082s.

  18. You'll be amazed at just how slooooow NewtNews is.  On my machine,
  19. in the time it takes NewtNews to update one of the more populare 
  20. newsgroups, WinVN has read in the more than 2800 newsgroups that
  21. our news server carries!  I'm writing from WinVN right now.

  62. I have never heard of write over the net, only local....Although, "talk"  
  63. consists of a daemon.   I am interested in finding some such program....If 
  64. anyone knows of one I would love for them to email me the where-abouts of it...
  65. If there isn't any, I would be the first to pay for a shareware version, along 
  66. with what I believe would be many others,   if a programmer would ever look 
  67. into it.
